New Republican Group Launches Pro-Mueller Campaign

Amid escalating attacks on Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s investigation into Russian interference in the 2016 election, a group of Republican is launching a new campaign called Republicans for the Rule of Law [ruleoflawrepublicans.com]. The campaign kicked off this morning with this commercial [youtu.be] on Fox and Friends and Morning Joe in Washington, D.C. and will continue to run the commercial tomorrow and throughout the week. The campaign also released this web ad[youtu.be] and is promoting it online.

Directed by William Kristol, Mona Charen, Linda Chavez, and Sarah Longwell—along with a broad coalition of Republicans and Conservatives—Republicans for the Rule of Law represents the majority of Republicans who believe the Special Counsel’s investigation should be completed without political interference.

The organization’s Board Chairman, William Kristol, said this about the launch of the new organization:

We founded Republicans for the Rule of Law to encourage Republicans in Congress and throughout the country to stand up for the rule of law and oppose any effort by the President to fire or remove the Special Counsel or to impede his investigation in any way, including by firing the Attorney General or his Deputy. Republicans should not hesitate to defend the rule of law, nor should they equivocate in doing so. We hope to encourage more of them to get out of a defensive crouch, step up to the plate and swing the bat on behalf of the principles of our constitutional democracy.
